Protective Clothes for Gardening
by
Steve Evans
Gardening is very serious business... so serious that you can’t go
strolling into your garden with your jeans and a tank top or your
business suit. Just as your work place has its apparel, your garden
also has its own apparel that you need to wear before hopping into it.
Gardening can come with a string of accidents that may be lethal or
mild depending on the luck of the day.
A large dense garden may be the hiding place for poisonous snakes or
spiders. You can’t go reaching into such dense foliage without getting
yourself bitten by a snake or a spider. Such gardening accidents and
other gardening incidents demand that you wear the right apparel into
your garden.
• Long
sleeved shirt: A long sleeved shirt is a must. A long
sleeved shirt will protect your arms against thorns or other twigs that
may scratch and injure you. A long sleeved shirt also protects you from
insect bites as you work on your vegetable patch.
• Long
trousers: Fitting long trousers can help to protect your
legs against insect bites and scratches.
• Boots:
Wearing boots into your garden protects your feet from snakes or
spiders. Boots also help to protect your feet from hoe cuts if you
swing it towards yourself instead of the ground.
• Gloves:
Plastic gloves help to protect your hands against cuts and
other accidents. Make sure that you buy a strong pair. You can stop
certain bad things from happening in your garden with the right gloves.
